Reclaim your strength through exercise with the B-REP Study.
We want to understand the exercise experiences of Black women diagnosed with breast cancer. This study combines exercise trials with questionnaires about health, wellness, and cultural experiences.
What will be involved as a participant in our study:
If you take part in the research, you may be asked to do the following:
2 questionnaires (20 to 30 minutes each)
3 in-person assessments (60 to 90 minutes each)
3 additional questionnaires at specific intervals (30 to 45 minutes each)
Weekly exercise sessions, exercising twice per week at home over Zoom with a
trainer (60 to 90 minutes per week for 12 weeks), or a wait list
(24 weeks)
Wearing an activity monitor on your hip for 7 days
1 interview over the phone or Zoom (60 to 90 minutes)
This study has 2 parts, you will complete the first part and may be selected for the second part.
In Part 1, participants will:
- Complete 2 online questionnaires (20 to 30 minutes each)
- The online questionnaires contains a series of questions related to your cultural experiences, overall health and wellbeing.
In Part 2, participants will:
- Complete a 12-week exercise or be on a waitlist for 24 weeks
- Attend 3 in-person visits scheduled before the intervention, at the end of the intervention, and 3-months after the intervention
- Complete 1 interview at the end of the intervention
All compensation will be in gift cards:
Part 1: $15 per questionnaire (up to $30 total)
Part 2: $25 per in-person visit (up to $75 total) and $20 for an interview
